Adaptive Computer
629 Divisadero St, San Francisco, CA, 94117, United States
Overview
Adaptive Computer builds a no-code web-app platform called ac1 (currently in alpha) that generates complete JavaScript-based apps from simple text prompts. Its engine automatically provisions backend infrastructure such as databases, user authentication, file management, payments (via Stripe), scheduled tasks, and AI features like image generation, speech synthesis, content analysis, and web search. The product targets true non-programmers, emphasizing removal of developer-facing requirements like API keys and other technical configuration. Adaptive positions its platform as more of an "operating system" of interoperable apps rather than single isolated web apps, allowing apps users build to share files and data. The company offers three subscription tiers: a limited free version, a $20/month tier, and a $100/month Creator/Pro plan. Adaptive says the platform can create fully functional sharable websites (not prototypes) that include features such as sorting, aggregations, and user access without exposing the creator's personal data. The startup was founded by repeat founder Dennis Xu (who left Mem in 2023) and Mike Soylu and aims to let everyday people build apps to improve their own lives.
