Additech provides interactive merchandising software, dispensers for engine-cleaning fuel additives, and pump-top displays that play commercials while drivers fill up. Its systems are installed at gas stations in 16 states, and main customers include H-E-B, Kroger and Murphy USA. The company generates roughly 90% of revenue from merchandising systems and sales of custom-blended fuel additives and about 10% from its media business. Additech’s additives are made by Afton Chemical and include two detergent cleaners and a friction modifier. The company plans to use new funding to grow the number of fuel centers using its service and to launch a “drive clean across America” marketing campaign. It is eyeing expansion into California and Arizona and says it could help gas stations distribute biofuels in the future, though it has not committed to do so.
