New York, United States
Overview
AIQ operates AdviceIQ, an online directory of trusted financial advisors and a publisher of syndicated personal finance content and advisor rankings. The AdviceIQ platform lists more than 2,500 advisors, all certified as having passed its subscription-based Regulatory Compliance Review (RCR™). Its content is syndicated by outlets including Morningstar, The Online Investor, Minyanville, Philly.com, The Motley Fool, National Real Estate Investor, Forbes and Business Insider. Named clients include American Portfolios Financial Services, Money Concepts Capital Corp., Securities Service Network, Evensky & Katz, Xpyria Investment Advisors and Financial Security Advisory, Inc. The company is led by co-founder and CEO Nicholas W. Stuller. AIQ says it will use new funding to further accelerate growth of its AdviceIQ directory. AIQ publishes AdviceIQ, a consumer-facing directory and content platform that combines daily personal finance journalism with listings and rankings of pre-vetted financial advisors. Its Meridian-IQ suite of advisor directories is licensed by over 500 major fund companies, broker-dealers and insurance companies for industry research and marketing. AdviceIQ requires advisors to pass its proprietary Regulatory Compliance Review (RCR™), and currently more than 2,400 advisors have passed that due diligence. The site syndicates content through partners including Morningstar, The Motley Fool, Business Insider and others, and publishes advisor-contributed articles under Editor-in-Chief Larry Light. AIQ says the company will deploy new capital to expand sales and marketing, make technology enhancements and extend the AdviceIQ platform to maintain a first-to-market advantage. The company recently closed a $5 million Series A equity financing to support these plans. AIQ is a Clifton, NJ-based company that developed Meridian-IQ, a proprietary database of 2.1 million U.S. financial advisors. Meridian-IQ includes wirehouse advisors, independent advisors, registered investment advisors (RIAs), insurance advisors, trust officers, and senior management at these firms. The database was developed by a team of financial services industry professionals with decades of experience working with hundreds of financial institutions. AIQ has received an investment from Penton for an undisclosed amount. According to CEO Nicholas W. Stuller, the investment and strategic relationship will help the company develop new products and add new functionality. As part of the alliance, William O'Conor, vice president of Penton’s Financial Services Group, will join AIQ’s board and Penton will become a reseller of the Meridian-IQ database to clients.
