Overview
Growth Intelligence provides a platform that enables SMEs and mid-sized companies to run account-based marketing (ABM) at scale by helping B2B marketers define ideal customer profiles and total addressable markets. Its product focuses on enabling efficient, creative digital-first campaigns for businesses shifting to online customer acquisition. The company cites operations across the U.S. and the U.K. and says it helps large enterprises and mid-sized firms build, scale, and launch ABM programs. Growth Intelligence lists clients including American Express and Vodafone, demonstrating commercial traction. The startup raised £1.5 million in venture debt and plans to use the proceeds for product development and expansion into new markets. Management positions the opportunity as growing post-COVID amid common marketing challenges like high ad spend, slow growth, and low conversions. Growth Intelligence, founded in 2013 and led by CEO Thomas Gatten, is a London-based platform that uses data science and machine learning to predict demand and purchasing behaviour. Its AI platform combines a client's past successful and unsuccessful marketing attempts with proprietary data from the digital footprint of every company to train bespoke AIs for each client. The platform then recommends future clients and advises on who will buy, who will be most valuable, when to contact them, and what to say. The company serves large clients including American Express, FedEx, Western Union, iZettle and Vitality Health. Growth Intelligence reached profitability early in 2018 and has tripled recurring revenue year on year. It plans to use the new funds to invest in its AI platform by building new AIs and hiring data science, engineering and commercial talent. Growth Intelligence, based in London, raised $3.4m in funding. Backers in the round include 83 North (formerly Greylock Israel), MMC Ventures, Paul Forster, Hal Varian and John Taysom. In conjunction with the funding, Alan Morgan from MMC and Paul Forster will join Growth Intelligence’s board. The company intends to use the funds to hire data scientists and engineers to support algorithm development. Led by founder and CEO Tom Gatten, Growth Intelligence’s platform uses machine learning on big data covering millions of firms to predict which businesses will respond to a marketing approach. Its SaaS allows users to identify companies to target in advance, aiming to drive up marketing performance and revenue; existing backers include Google, BT, Lloyds Banking Group and American Express.
