Afrimarket operates an e-commerce and payment platform that lets users pay for goods and services on behalf of relatives in (mostly West) Africa, positioning itself as a modernized, secured alternative to remittances. The service is available in Ivory Coast, Senegal, Cameroon, Benin and Togo. The company was founded in 2013 and is based in Paris and Abidjan. Moroccan entrepreneur Rania Belkahia led the recent fundraising to grow the platform across its target markets. Afrimarket raised €10 million in a Series B round, bringing total investment to €13 million. Backers include development-focused funds and strategic investors alongside French tech angels.
