Overview
Agnostiq is a Toronto-based distributed computing startup that develops software tools to make quantum and high-performance computing (HPC) resources accessible to enterprises and developers. Led by CEO Oktay Goktas, the company conducts algorithmic research and is developing Covalent, an open-source workflow orchestration platform to help users manage and execute tasks on heterogeneous compute resources. Agnostiq is building an enterprise-grade quantum and HPC platform and is pursuing commercialization of its software offerings. The company raised a $6.1M seed extension to accelerate further development and commercialization of its platform. The round is intended to fund product development and go-to-market activities. Agnostiq offers a quantum computing SaaS platform that combines quantum applications, privacy tools, and support for multiple quantum hardware backends to help organizations solve mission‑critical tasks. The platform includes workflow management tools for non‑experts to access, submit and scale jobs on hybrid quantum computers, privacy and quantum obfuscation tools for secure cloud workloads, and pre‑built applications such as Portfolio Optimization and Options Pricing. The team is an interdisciplinary mix of physicists, computer scientists and mathematicians. Co‑founded by CEO Oktay Goktas and COO Elliot MacGowan in 2018, the company targets enterprise adoption of quantum solutions. Agnostiq raised funding to continue development of its software platform and pre‑built application set.
