Agora Awards operates a digital platform where users upload photographs, video and audio and participate in worldwide awards, led by CEO Octavi Royo. The site currently features millions of photographs, graphic designs, music and videos created by users ranging from renowned artists to regular individuals. The company raised $2.2M in funding led by Chris Bouwer. It intends to use the funds to support further development of its marketplace and other initiatives aimed at elevating NFTs as works of art whose value will grow over time. Planned initiatives include the World NFT Festival, Agora NFT Marketplace, Agora’s Metaverse, Agora TV, an Agora Token, and a new project with the United Nations. The platform is accessible via web and through iOS and Android apps. Agora Images is a mobile photography app led by CEO and co-founder Octavi Royo that enables users to participate in contests, share images, and sell photos to businesses. The company has an international community of two million users in over 190 countries who have uploaded six million photos. Agora closed its second financing round with more than €2M and had closed a first round one year earlier. It plans to open a third round in the fall of 2018. The funds will be used to continue platform development, run sponsored contests, recruit developers, and invest in marketing to expand its global community and increase user acquisition. The app is available on the App Store and Google Play.
