Alkemics
20 rue Saint Georges, Paris, Ile-de-France, 75009, France
Overview
Alkemics provides a single, secure platform that digitises supplier-retailer relations across product discovery, listings and sales to accelerate product launches and keep product data transparent and up to date. The platform connects retailers to multinational suppliers and small local producers and covers omnichannel commerce workflows. It works with more than 17,000 brands and customers including E.Leclerc, Intermarché, Casino, Tesco and Ocado. Founded in 2012 and based in Paris, the company says demand has surged amid the coronavirus pandemic and a rapid shift to online and omni-channel grocery shopping. Alkemics positions itself to reduce traditional time-to-market (around 60 days) by replacing manual processes like XLS files and back-and-forth emails. With the new capital the company plans launches in Scandinavia, Germany and Benelux and intends to expand into additional verticals. Alkemics provides an omni-channel retail intelligence platform that enables retailers and CPG manufacturers to collect, enrich and share product data across the retail ecosystem. Its cloud-based, maintenance-free platform is pre-configured for grocery retail and automates management of digital product content, including packaging, ingredients, visuals, promotions and rich media. The platform extracts metadata to normalize product information and streamlines delivery to trading partners and third-party service providers. The company raised €20m in a Series B round led by Cathay Capital and Serena Capital, with participation from Index Ventures, Partech Ventures and SEB Alliance. Alkemics intends to use the funds to expand operations in Europe and to increase sales, marketing and technology development efforts. The company was co-founded by Antoine Durieux, Antoine Perrin and Benoit Portoleau-Balloy and is based in Paris.
