Allotrope Energy is a Woking, UK-based battery manufacturing startup led by CEO Dr Peter Wilson. The company develops agile high-speed carbon technology intended to enable a new family of ultra-fast-charging lithium-carbon and lithium-ion capacitor batteries. Its batteries aim to reach full charge in times similar to refueling an internal combustion engine vehicle while avoiding safety risks associated with other lithium-ion technologies. Allotrope says this technology could transform industries including mobility, aerospace, and robotics. The company raised US$6.7M in funding to progress its battery material technology.
