Alusid
Richard House, Winckley Square, Preston, Lancashire, PR1 3HP, United Kingdom
Overview
Alusid is a Preston-based manufacturer of sustainable ceramic tiles and related surface products that incorporate more than 95% recycled materials. Its patented dry-granulation process eliminates spray drying, cutting both CO₂ emissions and water usage, and gives the company one of the lowest carbon footprints in the global ceramics industry. Current ranges are sold through Topps Tiles’ 300-plus UK stores, and distribution agreements are in place with FRONT Materials BV (Netherlands), 3D Wall Panels Italia, and Sweden-based Kakelspecialisten, while Starbucks EMEA is already a customer. To broaden its addressable market, Alusid is developing moulded products such as shower trays, basins and architectural components using waste-derived geopolymer binders. Market traction in both retail and commercial channels is growing as demand for low-carbon building materials accelerates. Management is preparing the business for an AIM flotation and plans to deploy new capital to expand product development, scale international distribution and deepen investment in its proprietary technology. The latest financing values the company at £10 million and leaves Frontier IP with a 36.16 % stake following a loan-to-equity conversion.
