Amberjack operates an online marketplace that lets users search for and book fishing trips from outfitters using filters and curated featured trips. Outfitters can add and customize their own profiles on the platform; browsing and outfitter profile setup are free. Amberjack takes a small slice of each successfully booked transaction as its monetization. The company positions itself to centralize a fragmented booking experience in a U.S. fishing industry it says is worth $40 billion annually. It raised $500K in seed funding to build the business and expand the platform. The service is launching now out of beta.
