Overview
Ambyint is a Calgary, Canada–based provider of AI-powered production and artificial lift optimization software for the energy sector. Its platform helps oil and gas producers increase production, reduce operating costs, and minimize their environmental footprint. Features include the ability to quantify and mitigate both carbon dioxide and methane emissions. Led by CEO Benjamin Kemp, the company plans to use the recently raised funds to accelerate customer growth, expand energy and technology talent, and optimize product enhancements. Product enhancements specifically include expansion of its proven emissions mitigation capabilities. Financially, the company closed an undisclosed funding round led by existing investors Mercury and Montrose Lane with participation from BDC Capital and Accelerate Fund III. Ambyint provides AI-powered production and artificial lift optimization solutions that combine advanced physics-based models, subject-matter expertise, and machine learning. Its platform automates detection of production and equipment anomalies, recommends controller setpoint changes, and delivers production-versus-plan analytics. The company trains models on what it describes as the industry’s largest repository of labeled, high-resolution data totaling more than 250 million operating hours. Ambyint has deployed solutions in every major North American basin and serves mid- to large-sized operators including Equinor and Husky, reporting 10–20% margin gains while reducing operating expenses and failure rates. The company plans to extend its suite across all wells and artificial lift systems and to grow its Houston and Calgary offices. Ambyint announced a $15 million Series B to support this expansion. Ambyint combines traditional physics-based methods with artificial intelligence and machine learning to deliver an artificial lift and production optimization platform. The platform automates diagnosis, automatically adjusts operating parameters, and predicts failures to improve production performance. Customers deploy the Ambyint Production Optimization Platform with existing SCADA systems or with the company’s High Resolution Adaptive Controllers for higher-resolution data acquisition and automated control. Led by CEO Alex Robart and COO/founder Nav Dhunay, the company integrates hardware and software to enable automated control of artificial lift systems. Ambyint plans to use new funding to expand deployments in the US and Canada and to continue developing its technology platform.
