Andel
40 Wall Street, Suite 2834, New York, NY, 10015, United States
Overview
Andel is building a cooperative pharmacy-benefit platform that pools the buying power of employer members to buy GLP-1 weight-loss medications and other costly branded drugs directly from manufacturers at below-market rates. Employers choose a subsidy level, and Andel handles prescription verification, payment, and next-day delivery through its native applications and wholly owned Andel Pharmacy, LLC. By bypassing traditional pharmacy-benefit managers, the model aims to lower costs for employers while giving employees immediate access to brand-name medicines without prior-authorization hurdles. Co-founders Jay Bregman—whose prior ventures include Hailo and Thimble—and pharmacist Ritu Malhotra, PharmD, combine startup and healthcare-benefits expertise to navigate the complex drug-pricing ecosystem. The company announced plans to launch nationwide in early 2026. Andel has raised $4.5 million to fund this rollout, but it has not yet disclosed revenue, user, or prescription-volume metrics.
