Apartum operates an online aggregator that compares vacation-apartment listings from marketplaces such as Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Interhome. The company charges agencies for each user it sends as its primary revenue model. In 2016 Apartum managed approximately 25 million reservations, representing about €10 million in transaction value. Founded by Sergi Villaubí and Manuel Ángel, the startup is based in Barcelona (Cataluña). The company plans to use new funding to grow economically, strengthen its presence in southern Europe and position itself as a sector reference. It also intends to activate international expansion in markets including the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and France.
