Arevo
Dåva Energiväg 8, Umeå, Västerbotten, 90595, Sweden
Overview
Spun out of research at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Arevo formulates arginine-phosphate, a bio-based fertiliser that helps soils retain nutrients, reduces nitrogen runoff, and lowers fertiliser-related greenhouse-gas emissions. Fertilisers are responsible for roughly 5 % of global emissions, and Arevo positions its product as a scalable, low-emission alternative to conventional nitrogen fertilisers. Backed by Industrifonden, Fort Knox, Navigare Ventures, and forest-products group Stora Enso, the company is moving from pilot-scale to industrial-scale production. Recent capital will fund manufacturing scale-up, international market entry, and continued R&D. Arevo has also entered the consumer segment with a bio-based lawn fertiliser aimed at sustainability-minded homeowners. To navigate tightening EU fertiliser regulations, the firm expanded its board, adding former Swedish Green Party leader Maria Wetterstrand, Navigare Ventures CEO David Sonnek, Stora Enso deputy CEO Henrik Lenning, and Industrifonden’s Anna Haupt. No revenue or user metrics have been disclosed to date, but successive raises signal investor confidence in the company’s commercial trajectory.
