Overview
Arkis BioSciences develops less-invasive neurosurgical instrumentation and implantable devices for treating intracranial hypertension arising from traumatic brain injury, hemorrhagic stroke, hydrocephalus, and similar disorders. Its product portfolio includes the Tunneling Guidewire™, designed to enable less invasive ventriculoperitoneal shunt procedures, and Endexo® anti-thrombogenic catheters intended to reduce catheter obstructions and improve durability. Led by CEO Chad Seaver, the company is commercializing these surgical tools and implantables for the neurosurgical market. In June 2016 Arkis secured $3.4m in a Series A funding round. The company intends to use the Series A proceeds to accelerate commercialization of its instrumentation and to support the market release of its in-licensed Endexo technology. Arkis is based in Knoxville, Tennessee.
