Overview
ASET is a technology-driven startup focused on producing all-solid-state and composite electrolyte membranes that can be used alongside conventional liquid electrolytes, enabling applications from semi-solid-state to fully solid-state batteries. Its separator products aim to deliver higher energy density and enhanced fire safety compared with today’s lithium-ion cells. The company plans to commercialize the technology and convert to mass production, submitting roll-type A-samples to domestic and global battery makers within the year to secure pilot-line and volume contracts. A phased manufacturing roadmap targets capacities of 10 t in 2026, 100 t in 2027, 500 t in 2028, and 1,000 t in 2029. Financially, ASET has just secured ₩3 billion in pre-A bridge funding and previously raised ₩4.1 billion in a pre-A round in October 2022. It also obtained a ₩1 billion government grant through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s Climate-Tech Energy program, giving it additional non-dilutive capital for R&D and scaling.
