Aspen Avionics develops evolution flight display systems certified for General Aviation aircraft, Class III aircraft, and helicopters. The company’s first product, the AT300 Hazard Awareness Display, was certified in November 2005 as a combined terrain awareness display and vertical speed indicator designed to directly replace a mechanical VSI. Aspen was founded in 2004 and is based in Albuquerque, NM. It is led by President and CEO John Uczekaj. The company closed a $12.8M equity financing and intends to use the proceeds for continued product development and emerging technologies. As part of the financing, new board members were added to support its technology and flight-test capabilities.
