Async Art, launched in February 2020 by CEO Conlan Rios, is an Ethereum-based art platform that lets users create, collect and trade programmable art composed of a Master work and independently owned Layers. Creators deconstruct works into Layers and endow them with abilities; collectors can own and alter artworks via those Layers. Layers can be hooked up to external data sources such as time so artworks can change autonomously. The company intends to use its recent funding to onboard more users, develop additional ways to display Async artworks, and expand its team with hires for a platform developer and community manager. Operating metrics reported to date include over $5M in bid volume and over $1M in artist sales.
