Overview
Automera is an early-stage biotech focused on developing autophagy-targeting chimera small molecules (AUTACs) as a next-generation targeted protein degradation modality. It augments discovery with quantum chemistry and generative AI-enabled drug discovery tools. The AUTAC platform is designed to degrade disease-related proteins as well as protein aggregates, organelles, and pathogens, and is presented as a more flexible approach than existing PROTACs. Automera’s initial product-development efforts will focus on oncology. The company was established by co-founders Associate Professor Michael Lazarou, Loong Wang, and Taiyang Zhang at Talo Labs Pte Ltd in collaboration with Accelerator Life Science Partners and is based in Singapore. Automera has assembled a scientific advisory group including Michael Lazarou, Nicholas Ktistakis, Gene Yeo, and Kendall Mohler. The company has secured $16M in Series A funding to advance its AUTAC programs.
