Founded in 2023, Axle Energy operates a platform that connects, aggregates and dispatches distributed energy assets—such as EV chargers, home batteries and heat pumps—into virtual power plants. The company handles the full value chain from asset connection and forecasting to market bidding, dispatch and payments. Axle currently coordinates more than 300,000 connected assets and manages over 2 GW of capacity. Through partner flexibility programmes, participating consumers earn around £10 per month on average, with participants collectively earning millions of pounds last year.
