Babytree is a Beijing-based online parenting services platform founded in 2007 by Allen H. Wang. The company offers maternal and child-rearing tools, e-commerce, C2M products and services, and healthcare services for young families. It combines community, paid expert knowledge and retail to address maternal and child needs. Babytree has established strategic relationships with Chinese players including Fosun and TAL. Following the recent investment, Babytree will cooperate with Alibaba across e-commerce, C2M services, advertising sales, paid expert content, and new online and offline retail initiatives. The deal values the company at RMB 14 billion (approximately $2.19 billion). Babytree is a Beijing-based parenting website offering community, content and services for expectant parents and young mothers. Founded in 2007 by Wang Huainan, the company attracts over 200 million monthly unique active users, most of whom are pregnant women and young moms. Its core product is online parenting content and community resources tailored to family needs. In July 2016 Babytree closed a 3 billion yuan ($437m) equity financing led by Fosun Group. The deal is intended to support development of services and products across the family-consumption sector, including health, tourism and entertainment, in partnership with Fosun.
