BackupAgent provides platform-agnostic cloud backup software aimed at service providers, hosting companies and telcos that sell backup services to SME customers. Its software can handle large laptop/desktop environments as well as server farms, including file and database servers and virtual environments. The platform is deployed at more than 400 service providers, hosting companies and telcos, including customers such as KPN and Portugal Telecom. BackupAgent reports roughly 35,000 end-users globally on its platform. The company is based in The Netherlands and plans to use the new funding to strengthen its global footprint and develop its platform further. Financially, it has secured a new investment to support those growth and product-development goals.
