BakeryTech offers a platform where bakeries upload purchase histories so the company can use data-analysis to match them with suppliers and secure better purchasing conditions. The platform also guarantees payment to suppliers, reducing counterparty risk and enabling healthier end-to-end transactions. The company was founded at the end of 2020 by Bruno Marques and Edgar Júnior, who have expertise in the food-service sector. BakeryTech reports nearly 100 clients—more than 80 in Espírito Santo and the remainder in the metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte—with some customers reportedly saving up to 20% on purchases. The startup positions itself to modernize a large Brazilian bakery market that grew 14.4% in 2022 and moved R$121 billion across more than 70,000 establishments. With the new funding, BakeryTech plans to focus on platform development and expand its network of bakeries and suppliers in Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais.
