Banyan Green Fuels collects and processes agricultural waste to produce green fuels supplied to large corporations. The Telangana-based startup is led by founder Nityanand Agrawal, an IIT‑Kanpur alumnus with over two decades of experience in technology and environment. The company aims to provide 1 million tonnes of green fuel by 2017 and to be a leader in supplying green fuels across India. It recently raised Rs 1 crore from Intellecap Impact Investment Network (I3N) with participation from existing investors. I3N's seven angel investors participated in the round, including Naveen Kshatriya and Rema Subramanian of Ankur Capital. Management highlights field-level efficiency and stakeholder partnerships as priorities for scaling production.
