BASE4 Biosciences develops a platform that combines multi-omic data—including genomic, molecular and transcriptomic information—with proprietary AI models to infer the functional state of dozens of tissues from a blood sample. The company builds sex-specific biological models to improve prediction accuracy and capture differences in disease mechanisms and aging between men and women. BASE4 has chosen female health as its initial clinical focus, launching a product to estimate ovarian biological age and detect early reproductive decline. It plans to expand into other conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis and various hormonal and inflammatory disorders. The startup is a spin-off of Institut de Recerca Sant Pau and is based in Barcelona. Financially, BASE4 completed a $1.0M pre-seed round backed by Kfund, Baobab Ventures, Itnig Fund, Masia VC and individual investors to accelerate platform development and clinical applications.
