BattGenie develops software to improve lithium‑ion battery performance by optimizing fast recharging while extending battery life. The company says its technology has demonstrated battery cycle life improvements in excess of 100%, increased storage, and charge times as short as 15 minutes across EV, consumer and grid batteries. New capital will fund further tech development, new hires and commercialization, and a grant will support a project to repurpose retired electric bus batteries for the grid with a project site selected by Two Rivers CDC. In addition to cash, the accelerator grants access to R&D resources at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, a U.S. Department of Energy facility. BattGenie plans to use the funding to validate its technology at a full battery pack-level (a 400V system), which it says is critical for automotive applications.
