Beacon operates a subscription flight service that charges a flat $2,000 monthly fee for unlimited flights on any Beacon route, with members able to reserve up to four flights at once and purchase upgrades for additional reservations or family add-ons. The company was founded by former Surf Air CEO Wade Eyerly and two other Surf Air co-founders and is positioning itself on the East Coast to serve corporate commuters and high-income travelers along the Northeast Corridor. Beacon will initially launch a NYC–Boston route, then expand to Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and seasonal destinations such as the Hamptons and Nantucket. Rather than owning aircraft or employing pilots, Beacon partners with FAA-regulated operators and recently signed a $400 million agreement with Dynamic Aviation to receive 27 planes over three years. Beacon says this asset-light model will be more capital efficient and enable faster growth. The company expects to begin service on September 15 and launch with about 500 members, and plans to use new funding to hire sales staff, station concierges at airports, and make deposits on aircraft.
