Biorad Medisys Private Ltd is a medical device company that supplies medical consumables, implants and equipment across several segments. The company received a ₹400-crore investment from Kotak Strategic Situations India Fund II. It will use the funds to set up a new manufacturing plant, repay existing debt, and fund increasing working capital requirements. Managing Director Jitendra Hegde said the firm will strive to scale the business through sustainable value creation and by providing best-in-class quality and performance. Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Ltd, which manages the fund, noted the Indian medical devices industry is at an inflection point with rising demand and government support for domestic manufacturers.
