Overview

BioScale develops protein measurement and analysis technologies, including its AMMP assay technology and ViBE platform. The company was founded in 2002 by CEO Mark Lundstrom and three interdisciplinary MIT professors. It has assembled development, engineering, manufacturing and an industry-seasoned commercial team to launch its products into pharmaceutical, biotech, life science, and bioprocess markets. BioScale is also pursuing partnering for diagnostic and specialty applications. The company recently established a new 30,000 sq. ft. global headquarters and manufacturing site in Lexington, Massachusetts. Per SEC filings, BioScale raised $5.2 million in convertible debt from 37 separate investors. BioScale Inc. is a Cambridge, MA-based life science company that develops, manufactures and promotes an innovative protein analytics technology. The company develops the ViBE protein analytics systems, which enable ultra-sensitive detection and quantitation of proteins in complex samples. ViBE systems are intended for use in research, clinical, bioprocessing, patient point-of-care and personalized medicine applications. BioScale secured $25M in its recent funding round. The financing will enable the company to expand manufacturing operations and bring the ViBE systems into the market. Investors in the round include lead investor Morningside Venture and existing partners New Science Ventures, WFD Ventures, F2 Ventures, and other individual investors.
