Block Tackle is a game studio focused on creating the first generation of fun-first blockchain games where in-game items function as owned digital assets. The company’s initial release, SkateX, is an immersive extreme sports game in which skateboards operate as NFTs. SkateX is due for release later this year. Block Tackle closed a $5M seed funding round and intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts. The studio was co-founded by Rob Oshima and Ben Topkins. Its team includes game developers from Kabam, EA, Lucasfilm, Roblox, Supercell, Apple, Telltale and Drone Racing League.
