Bloomer Health Tech

1 Broadway Ste 12, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 02142, United States

Overview

Bloomer Tech builds textile‑based sensor technology and AI to produce medical‑grade data from women's physiology, packaged in the Bloomer Bra/Tech‑Augmented Garment (TAG). The platform generates novel digital biomarkers informed by over 20 years of evidence on sex and ethnicity‑related cardiovascular differences. The company plans randomized clinical validation to drive commercial adoption by clinicians and patients, enrolling women through UF Health and Lakeland Regional Health. The trial will measure adherence to Cardiac Rehab and test the garment's ability to produce actionable, personalized diagnostics. Bloomer Tech was recently selected as a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer. Financially, the company has received a multi‑year $1.9M SBIR Direct‑to‑Phase II grant from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to support the clinical study. Bloomer Tech is a health technology company developing the Bloomer Bra, the world’s first electrocardiogram device that looks and feels like a bra by embedding patented medical-grade fabric sensors and machine-learning algorithms into everyday garments. The product is designed to give users and clinicians continuous, high-fidelity heart-health data and to address gaps in female-specific cardiovascular datasets. The company says its technology can prevent algorithmic bias by improving representation of women in cardiac data and by unlocking sex-specific digital biomarkers. Bloomer has had early traction with women’s heart programs at leading hospitals in the Boston area and plans paid pilots in 2020. The company will use its seed funding to expand its pilot program, collect key clinical data, and further develop the commercial product and user experience. Bloomer’s founders and technology have been supported by MIT programs including the Legatum Center, deltaV accelerator, and the MIT Computational Cardiovascular Research Group.
