Overview

Blue Arbor Technologies focuses on next-generation neuromuscular interfaces that directly connect residual muscles and peripheral nerves to advanced robotic prostheses. Its flagship RESTORE Neuromuscular Interface System, which has FDA Breakthrough Device Designation and entry into the FDA’s Total Product Life Cycle Advisory Program Pilot, enables independent, simultaneous control of fingers, wrist, and elbow via a wireless sensing unit. Early feasibility studies show the system can capture stable, high-quality motor signals for more than five years, and the first-in-human implantation performed in December 2025 quickly produced functional, natural movement. The technology stems from nearly two decades of academic research led by the founders, whose work has attracted over $60 million in grant funding and generated 200+ peer-reviewed publications. Blue Arbor plans to use its new capital and strategic partnership with Ottobock to accelerate clinical trials, expand product development, and prepare for commercial launch. Financially, the company has now begun its Series A raise with a $5 million anchor investment, but RESTORE remains an investigational device not yet cleared for sale.
