BlueWave is building five agrivoltaics projects in Massachusetts under the Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target (SMART) Program. These projects are designed to benefit landowners, farmers, and surrounding communities while supplying clean energy to the grid. They are expected to begin commercial operation later this year and will deliver bill credit savings to about 770 low-income households and enough energy to power roughly 2,570 Massachusetts households. BlueWave estimates the projects will offset carbon emissions equivalent to 2,500 cars or what 540,000 mature trees could absorb. The company plans to use the recently raised financing to construct and provide long-term financing for these projects.
