Borderless
919 North Market Street, Suite 950, Wilmington, Delaware, 19801, United States
Overview
Borderless provides backend infrastructure that lets diaspora investment clubs onboard members, accept cross-border payments, and deploy funds directly to verified startups and property sellers, embedding legal and compliance checks throughout the process. Since launching its beta in 2023, the platform has processed more than $500,000 in transactions and currently supports collectives that have backed over 10 startups and two Kenyan real-estate projects, with minimum tickets of $1,000 for startups and $5,000 for property. More than 100 additional communities are on its waitlist. Borderless makes money from transaction fees, a share of membership dues, and foreign-exchange spreads, with plans to add remittance products, payout fees, and broader asset-management tools. Future asset classes under consideration include film and diaspora bonds. Founder Joe Kinvi, a former Stripe and Paystack product and growth lead, positions the company to unlock an estimated $30 billion in idle migrant savings each year. The model emphasizes trust by routing investor funds directly to escrow or legal accounts, never through collective managers.
