Overview

Founded in Beijing in late 2020, Bose Quantum (also known by the English brand QBoson) focuses on photonic quantum computing and pursues a dual strategy of fault-tolerant universal quantum machines and scalable specialized quantum computers. Its research team includes scientists and engineers from institutions such as Stanford University, Tsinghua University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The company reports that research personnel make up roughly 70% of its workforce and that about 65% of employees hold master's or doctoral degrees. In May the company announced the Harness Shanhai 1000 specialized quantum computer and its first universal photonic quantum chip. Bose Quantum has established photonic quantum laboratories in Suzhou, Shenzhen and Nanjing and built a large-scale manufacturing facility in Shenzhen. It has reported application testing across AI, pharmaceuticals, finance, telecommunications, energy and advanced materials, and has completed multiple financing rounds, most recently a pre-IPO round of several hundred million yuan.
