Overview
BrainTale develops and commercializes BrainTale-care, a clinically validated digital biomarker platform delivered as SaaS that measures white matter using diffusion MRI. The platform identifies white matter microstructure alterations, provides individualized prediction scores, and supports diagnosis, monitoring and prediction for neurological diseases including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, demyelinating diseases and traumatic brain injury. BrainTale positions its biomarkers to aid physicians and drug developers by improving clinical trial discrimination between active and placebo arms and enabling companion‑biomarker approaches. The company says it will accelerate development and commercial expansion in Europe and the United States following the recent financing. BrainTale was founded in 2018, is supported by LallianSe, employs about a dozen people, and already counts hospitals (Paris Region Greater Hospitals, Hôpitaux Universitaires de Strasbourg), biotech Minoryx and partners including Massachusetts General Hospital among early customers and collaborators. The firm reports its products are clinically validated, ISO 13485:2016 certified and available on the European market under the Medical Device Regulation. BrainTale develops clinically validated digital medical devices and SaaS solutions for neurology and intensive care, focused on quantifying brain lesions and predicting patient outcomes. Its first CE‑marked product, brainQuant, is a SaaS solution that provides brain lesion quantification from diffusion MRI and was launched earlier in 2020. The company is preparing BrainScore‑coma, a SaaS solution that combines brainQuant with AI algorithms to predict coma emergence; it is expected to receive CE marking by mid‑2021. BrainTale’s products are built on more than 15 years of clinical development and prospective trials involving more than 500 patients led by AP‑HP. The company is ISO 13485:2016 certified and intends to use the financing to implement its development and commercialization strategy, accelerate growth, and attract talent. Founded in July 2018, BrainTale positions its solutions as standardized, quality‑checked measures answering unmet medical questions in brain‑injury care.
