Brite Solar is a Greek-founded energy solutions company that produces energy-generating transparent photovoltaic glass using advanced nanotechnology materials. Its proprietary nanomaterial absorbs UV radiation and re-emits it in the visible spectrum, boosting energy available to plants and improving solar-cell efficiency. Founder and CEO Dr. Nick Kanopoulos, with a background in electrical and computer engineering, developed the transparent photovoltaic concept with climate-smart agriculture applications. The company was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in Thessaloniki; it is building a solar glass production line and establishing a new unit in Patras. Brite Solar secured €8.6M in Series A financing to fund further development and installation of the production line and to expand operations.
