Broken String Biosciences is a Cambridge-based genomics company developing INDUCE-seq, an NGS-based DNA break mapping platform aimed at making cell and gene therapies safer by design. INDUCE-seq leverages a PCR-free approach to directly measure and quantify DNA double-strand breaks and assess off-target editing events for genome editing tools such as CRISPR-Cas9. Funding will also support recruitment for the UK team at the Wellcome Genome Campus and the establishment of a US office. The company has demonstrated progress since its 2021 seed round and, according to investors, has generated repeat revenues across a portfolio of partners.
