Bump
17 rue Henry Monnier, Paris, 75009, France
Overview
Bump is a French infrastructure company that funds, installs, operates and maintains electric-vehicle charging stations for retailers, parking owners and logistics clients. The company has created 300 charging stations and plans to deploy another 2,000 by the end of 2023. Bump charges partners no upfront installation cost, then manages maintenance and takes a cut of kWh revenues to progressively cover investment costs. The business is capital-intensive and charging stations can take five, 10 or 15 years to become profitable. Bump works with construction partners for hardware installs and runs its own software stack for remote monitoring, with third-party field support for hardware issues. Its client roster includes Star Service, Top Chrono, Stuart, Europcar, Zity, Bolt and Marcel. With new funding, the company plans to expand aggressively and hire about 100 people.
