BW Ideol develops and manufactures concrete floating foundations for offshore wind using its patented Damping Pool® technology. The company is building the Fos3F plant in Fos-sur-Mer to enable serial production with a planned capacity of up to 30 foundations per year and aims to deliver the first units in 2030. BW Ideol says local manufacturing will shorten logistics, consolidate manufacturing capabilities in France, and support a regional supply chain for floating offshore wind. The firm has operational experience and is involved in projects and operations in France and Japan, and it is advancing developments including Eolmed, Buchan and MGL. Its current financial position has been bolstered by up to €126 million in public grants from the EU Innovation Fund and the French C3IV program to finance the Fos3F project.
