Overview

Byndr is a mobile-first learning management platform that enables colleges to collaborate with students, administer coursework, and connect learners to educational resources. Launched in March 2015 by Joseph Freed, Praveen Vangeepuram, Marc Garabedian, Satish Nampally and Prashanthi Vangeepuram, the company operates out of Philadelphia and Hyderabad. It is used by over 50,000 students across higher-education institutions in India, from small colleges to some among the country's top 100, including Osmania College of Engineering and Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology. The company raised $700K in seed funding to expand its sales and development teams. Byndr plans to grow the product scope to provide more access to educational content for students and to add administrative features for colleges. The funding round was supported by the Education Design Studio (an ed‑tech accelerator at the University of Pennsylvania), Ben Franklin Technology Partners, and a group of angel investors.
