Capitalise provides a platform that helps accountants find and deliver financing and financial services to SME clients. It is launching an integrated credit protection service called Capital Reports, powered by Experian, to assess clients’ and suppliers’ credit positions and warn of potential defaults. The new service is intended to help SMEs improve credit ratings and access capital at better rates amid fragile supply chains. Capitalise is used by over 1,800 accounting firms across the UK and has seen more than £1 billion of offers from 200 capital provider partners pass through its platform. On launch, Capital Reports will be available to about 500,000 SMEs via their accountants and another 500,000 via API and open-banking partnerships. The company plans a South Africa rollout in Q4 with more countries to follow. Founded in 2015, the startup has capitalised on £13.5 million in funding since inception.
