Overview

Caramel offers a simple digital checkout platform that simplifies private party and independent dealer car sales by handling authentication, payments, title transfers and DMV work. The platform verifies buyers and sellers with photo ID and selfies, authenticates vehicles, transfers funds securely, automates digital paperwork, and offers financing, insurance and transportation options from national partners. Dozens of independent dealers already use Caramel as a digital retail solution, and the product is available in the App Store, Google Play and at drivecaramel.com. Founded and led by co-CEOs Craig Nehamen and Ed Brojerdi, the team draws on experience in auto finance, operations, marketing and product. Caramel says it launched the checkout platform to make private-party transactions easier and more secure for buyers and sellers. Financially, the company completed a $12 million seed funding round announced alongside the product launch.
