Cardiologs

136 Rue Saint-Denis, Paris, Ile-de-France, 75002, France

Overview

Cardiologs provides a clinical decision support system that ingests readings from Holter monitors and ECG devices, uses deep learning to analyze recordings, and highlights specific episodes for cardiologist review. The company has built a database of around 1.5 million ECG recordings to train its algorithms. Its software is primarily targeted at screening for atrial fibrillation but is capable of spotting more than 100 different cardiac abnormalities. Cardiologs received CE regulatory clearance in 2016 for a deep learning–powered medical device and later attained similar certification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Financially, the startup has raised a new $15 million Series A and had previously raised around $10 million, including a $6.4 million round in 2017. It plans to use the funding to double down on growth in North America and Europe and to develop new integrations and applications for its technology. Cardiologs Technologies offers the Cardiologs ECG Analysis Platform, a cloud‑based, AI‑powered web solution and API that analyzes ambulatory ECG recordings from Holter monitors, patches, smartwatches and other devices. The company has trained a neural network on more than 500,000 recordings to recognize cardiac signal patterns and assist cardiologists in screening for arrhythmias. The platform is CE‑marked in Europe for up to 100 cardiac abnormalities and received FDA clearance in July 2017 for detection of 10 significant arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation. Scientific validation cited in the FDA submission reported a positive predictive value for AFib of 91% and sensitivity of 97%, and the company’s study was published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology. Cardiologs raised a $6.4M Series A and has $10M in total funding; proceeds will be dedicated to accelerating commercialization in the United States and Europe. The company plans to further extend its AI capacity beyond current ECG diagnostic claims to cover additional diagnostic capabilities.
