Overview
CathWorks applies advanced computational science to elevate coronary angiography from visual assessment to an objective FFR-based decision tool with its FFRangio System. The FFRangio System delivers objective FFR guidance intra-procedurally across the full coronary tree without adding clinical risk or per-procedure costs. The platform is non-invasive and was benchmarked against conventional invasive FFR in the FAST-FFR clinical study. CathWorks received FDA 510(k) clearance on December 19, 2018, using invasive FFR as the predicate for substantial equivalence. The company plans to accelerate clinical and commercial activities and pursue market entry for FFRangio in the United States. Leadership says the technology offers significant clinical and economic benefits for clinicians, patients, and payors. CathWorks develops digital healthcare products for the cardiovascular market, focusing on a real-time platform that determines fractional flow reserve (FFR) in the catheterization laboratory in under five minutes using standard angiographic images. Its lead product reconstructs the coronary tree in three dimensions from standard angiograms and provides clinicians with a complete FFR analysis in all visible coronary arteries simultaneously using proprietary algorithms. The company received a CE Mark on its lead product earlier in the year. CathWorks intends to use newly raised funds to conduct a global pivotal trial to support 510(k) FDA approval. Founded in 2013 and led by CEO Guy Lavi, the company is based in Kfar Saba, Israel.
