CellEra is an Israeli developer of fuel cell technology that has developed a Platinum-Free Membrane (PFM) fuel cell. The PFM technology is designed to reduce major cost components of conventional fuel cells, notably the use of platinum. The company’s introductory product is targeted at the telecommunications supplemental-power market. It is positioned as a clean alternative to lead-acid batteries and diesel generators for backup power. Led by CEO Ziv Gottesfeld, CellEra is pursuing deployments in telecom supplemental power. Financially, the company raised $9.2M in funding from a group of strategic and VC backers.
