Overview

Cerby builds an identity automation platform that secures disconnected applications by integrating with IAM, IGA, PAM and EPM systems to automate credentials, authentication, lifecycle management, and privileged access. The platform works horizontally across enterprise identity domains to extend protection to applications traditional tools can't reach and now automates workflows across more than 2,000 applications. Cerby supports over 100 organizations worldwide, including customers such as L'Oréal, Fox, Allstate, Chime, and Dentsu. Since its Series A less than 20 months ago the company has 10x'd ARR and grown its customer base 5x. Cerby plans to use new capital to expand the Cerby Application Network, invest in agentic AI capabilities, and make the platform more extensible. It will also scale go-to-market operations in North America and EMEA, prioritizing Germany, France, the UK and strategic Middle Eastern regions. Cerby provides a platform that integrates nonstandard applications into a unified identity mesh by harnessing upstream identity providers (e.g., Okta, Azure AD, SailPoint) to automate onboarding, offboarding and MFA enrollment. The product gives security teams visibility and control over employee‑onboarded apps, enables shared access without password sharing, and detects rogue apps while guiding users to safer alternatives. Cerby’s customers span departments (marketing, sales, product, manufacturing, finance) and application types (on‑prem, OT, legacy, cloud). The company plans to adopt large language models to improve threat detection and offer in‑context guidance for secure app configuration. Cerby says it has about 60 employees and 26 active customers, including Colgate‑Palmolive and a “major” healthcare provider. The firm competes with vendors like Nudge Security and Strata Identity and intends to use new funding to scale go‑to‑market, sales and marketing and to pursue federal customers in late 2024. Cerby provides enterprises a registration and automation platform for apps not managed by IT, enabling users to register apps, add permissions, and automatically identify and remediate security gaps. The platform is aimed at securing decentralized remote working environments by encouraging app registration so applications can be audited and secured. Cerby differentiates by automating the complete lifecycle of non-IT-managed apps—rotating passwords, enrolling two-factor authentication, removing users, and disabling noncompliant settings—without relying on manual work from IT or end users. CEO and cofounder Belsasar Lepe said about half of workplace apps are purchased by non-IT buyers and that Cerby helps detect and auto-secure these apps. The company plans to use the new funding to grow commercial and customer-success teams and expand its library of integrations to support the top 5,000 most commonly used apps. Cerby competes in the broader security automation/SOAR space and aims to move automation capabilities beyond IT teams into the hands of general employees. Cerby builds security tools to help enterprises embrace and control Shadow IT, with an initial focus on securing how end users share credentials. The company’s product targets scenarios where credential sharing conflicts with traditional enterprise systems and security best practices. Cerby is helping news organizations and political campaigns control how distributed teams access corporate and brand accounts. The 15-person team is fully remote, with members located across the U.S. and Mexico. Cerby is in closed beta with select Fortune 1000 customers and will use funding to accelerate product development and hiring.
