Certain Affinity is an Austin, Texas–based independent video game developer founded in 2006 by Max Hoberman. The studio develops original games and has co-developed prominent action titles and collections, including entries in Call of Duty, Halo, DOOM and Left 4 Dead. It operates more than 125 full-time employees and plans to expand operations with a new headquarters and new game initiatives. Under its agreement with Leyou, Certain Affinity will develop and produce an original game based on licensed intellectual property with Leyou’s direction and cooperation. The company will receive a portion of the net revenue from that game and may draw on an interest-free, non-recourse loan facility from Leyou to cover development costs. The studio will continue to operate independently following the investment.
