Chase Pharmaceuticals

1825 K Street, NW Suite 510, Washington, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, 20006, United States

Overview

Chase Pharmaceuticals is a US-based company developing novel approaches to improve treatments for Alzheimer’s disease; its lead candidate is CPC 201. CPC 201 is advancing through Phase 2a and Phase 2b clinical trials, and the company assembled financing to support those studies. A $21 million investor syndicate was put together to fund the Phase 2 trials. Named participants in that syndicate include Cipla (EU) Ltd, Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners and New Rhein Healthcare LLC. Cipla initially invested $1.5 million in May 2014 for a 14.6% stake and has now made an additional $3 million investment, bringing its aggregate to approximately $5.12 million for a 16.7% fully diluted stake. Cipla had also committed to a further $4.5 million contingent on achievement of specified milestones. Original venture funding for Chase was provided by the Brain Trust Accelerator Fund in 2010. Chase Pharmaceuticals is an early-stage drug development company focused on Alzheimer’s disease, based in Washington, DC. Its lead product is CPC-201 (oral) and the company is also developing CPC-252 for transdermal administration. Chase says it uses a unique, patented approach intended to significantly improve the efficacy and safety of marketed Alzheimer’s drugs such as ARICEPT and Exelon. Proceeds from its most recent financing will fund Phase 2a and Phase 2b clinical trials of the lead product following Phase 1 studies. The company was founded in 2007 and previously received Series A funding in 2010 and 2011 from Brain Trust Accelerator Fund to support Phase I trials. The privately held company has added John M. Siebert as CEO and expanded its board with representatives from its new investors.
